Beef balls Stroganoff

    Ingredients

    • 1 lb ground lean beef
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1/8 tsp pepper
    • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
    • 3 tbsp butter
    • 1 medium onion, diced finely
    • 1/4 lb mushrooms, sliced
    • 1/2 tsp paprika
    • 2 tbsp flour
    • 1 cup consomme
    • 1/2 cup sour cream
    • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    • salt and pepper to taste

    Directions

    • Combine the ground beef, milk, bread crumbs, salt. pepper and parsley.
    • Blend well and shape into 1" balls.
    • Melt butter to sizzling in a large, deep frying pan and brown beef balls well all around.
    • Remove the beef balls. Add onion and mushrooms to pan and saute quickly.
    • Sprinkle paprika and flour over contents of frying pan.
    • Pour in consomme, stirring constantly, and cook until mixture thickens.
    • Blend in the sour cream, return the beef balls, add worcestershire sauce and salt and pepper to taste.
    • Heat through thoroughly but be careful not to boil.
    • Serve with mashed potatoes, buttered noodles or rice.
