Ingredients
- 1 lb ground lean beef
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 medium onion, diced finely
- 1/4 lb mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 cup consomme
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Combine the ground beef, milk, bread crumbs, salt. pepper and parsley.
- Blend well and shape into 1" balls.
- Melt butter to sizzling in a large, deep frying pan and brown beef balls well all around.
- Remove the beef balls. Add onion and mushrooms to pan and saute quickly.
- Sprinkle paprika and flour over contents of frying pan.
- Pour in consomme, stirring constantly, and cook until mixture thickens.
- Blend in the sour cream, return the beef balls, add worcestershire sauce and salt and pepper to taste.
- Heat through thoroughly but be careful not to boil.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, buttered noodles or rice.
