Ingredients

  • 2 tbsps butter
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cups sauerkraut, drained
  • 2 cups beef bouillon
  • 2 apples sliced
  • 2 slices bacon
  • 1 potato, grated

Directions

  • Melt butter in large frying pan.
  • Saute onion until golden brown.
  • Stir in sauerkraut and apple slices.
  • Pour in bouillon and place bacon slices on top.
  • Cover and simmer for 30-40 minutes.
  • Add grated potato and continue to simmer, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
  • Remove bacon and serve hot.
