Cherry Brownies

Ingredients

Base

  • 1 21 0z can cherry pie filling
  • 1 pkge 18.5 oz chocolate cake mix
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp almond extract

Topping

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 5 tbsps butter of margarine
  • 6 oz pkge semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

Base

  • Combine pie filling, cake mix, beaten eggs and almond extract until well blended.
  • Pour into a lightly-greased, floured, 10.5x15.5x1" pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Cool.

Topping

  • Combine sugar, evaporated milk and butter in saucepan and mix well.
  • Boil for 1 minute.
  • Add chips, stirring quickly to melt.
  • Spread over cool cake.
  • Allow to set.
