Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1-1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/3 cup boiling water
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts or coconut
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
Directions
- Beat butter until soft.
- Add sugars and beat until fluffy.
- Add vanilla, flour and salt and mix well.
- Dissolve baking soda in boiling water.
- Blend into mixture.
- Stir in the rolled oats, nuts and chocolate chips.
- Roll into balls and flatten with fork dipped in cold water.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes
- Yields 4-5 dozen.
