Ingredients
- 3/4 cup pot or pearl barley, pot is better.
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1 litre of 1% Buttermilk
- 1/2 cup sugar
Directions
- Place barley in medium-sized pot and cover with water.
- Bring to a boil and reduce to simmer.
- Keep barley covered with water and simmer for 1-1/2 hours.
- Add raisins for last 10 minutes.
- When done the water should be almost completely gone and the barley will be creamy.
- Add the sugar and buttermilk and mix thoroughly.
- Store in a 2 litre container.
